Your child's classes are designed as structured lessons, incorporating warm-up and cool-down exercises, floor skills, apparatus practice, award level skills and preparation for events such as the invitational competition or the termly Club Championship. In addition to providing a great deal of learning material, we also make the sessions extremely fun with VIP-bring-a-friend sessions, upbeat music, entertaining games and exciting visits from the club mascot 'Flair Bear'!
Warm Up - Cool Down
It is very important for children to warm up and cool down when doing physical activity, in order to avoid injury and muscle damage whilst keeping fit and healthy in the long run. Of course many people prefer to skip this so-called 'boring' bit and dive right into the action. But our warm-up and cool-down sessions are fun and active, with imaginative games and dynamic stretches, so kids enjoy the whole experience.
Music and Fun
We like to break things up with some extra activities which help keep the kids healthy and focused. That is why we sometimes introduce fun games or competitions, play lots of up-beat music, and provide regular refreshment breaks so the children can pause to re-hydrate. On occasion the club mascot Flair Bear even visits the classes, whilst we also stage parent viewing sessions each term and offer VIP bring-a-friend weeks in which students can bring along their buddies for an even more enjoyable experience.
Skills and Apparatus Work
Each of your child's classes are based around learning one particular skill, which will vary according to their choice of class (gymnastics or trampolining) as well as their age, ability level and club. Gymnastics classes tend to include work on such exciting apparatus as vault, trampette and air tumbling track, whilst trampolinists will get to perform a selection of basic shapes and advanced skills. Since the content of your child's sessions depends upon so many variables, however, we recommend that you read the 'Student Training Diary' to find out exactly what your child is learning at any particular time.
Award Level Practice
When your child is practicing their floor skills and doing the apparatus work, they are all the while progressing through our gymnastics syllabus or trampolining curriculum and climbing up to new levels of our awards program. Each athlete is tested every term to measure their development, then they are rewarded for their achievements with special badge awards and certificates.
Each term we stage Club Championships, and each year we may host a grand invitational event with entrants from all over the country. These add an element of friendly competition to our program, giving the kids a chance to experience challenging contests whilst having fun and (hopefully) winning medals!
