What Does Flair Do For Charity and the Community?

Giving Africa Charity Bounceathon
In July 2011 athletes, parents and coaches across all of our clubs joined together for our charity bounceathon, in support of 'Giving Africa'. More than 150 people kept a trampoline bouncing for 141,000 jumps through day and night, raising £1,106.62 for charity.
Prizes were given to the highest fund-raising participants, with Katieann Phillips receiving a one-to-one coaching session and Melissa and Imogen Bird taking home a Riverford Organic food hamper.
The money raised was put towards improving Bethel Secondary School in Gourcy, a small town in the north of Burkina Faso. In the future we aim to host another Bounceathon, next time trying for even more jumps from even more people for an even greater period of time. Wish us luck!
Surrey Half Marathon
In March 2014, company director Richard and a 5 of our fantastic coaches (Tom, Sam, Charlotte, Imogen, & Victoria) ran the Surrey Half Marathon, in order to fundraise for Eagle Radio Trust! The charity supports local causes in Surrey and Hampshire, with money going towards things like school equipment, small local projects, and has included past donations to Woking 'First Responders' and Worplesdon Primary School. It gives help to local people and children in the community, and the team managed to raise over £400 in donations!
With support from parents, members, and their families, all of the Flair Team crossed the finish line after running 13.1 miles from the Guildford Spectrum to Woking town centre and back.
In a subsequent interview, Richard said: "The race on Sunday was our way of giving back to the local community while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle to the children of Surrey. There are a few sore legs at Flair HQ, but it was all worthwhile as we have raised a heap of cash for the Eagle Radio Trust and raised awareness of the importance of an active lifestyle. And of course we had loads of fun too"

Special Educational Needs (SEN) Gym
In addition to gymnastics and trampolining classes, we also offer one of the country's leading Special Educational Needs (SEN) gym coaching to customers at our Guildford and Sunbury clubs. Our SEN co-ordinator was even a Paralympic Ambassador for Coca Cola at London 2012. This coaching service is an important part of our aim to extend access to everyone, so that more kids can get active and have fun through sport. We therefore believe our business can powerfully benefit the local community.
Local Schools and Sports Colleges
We are an official partner of the UK Sports Schools and Colleges network, an affiliation of 30 primary schools. In addition we operate at some well-respected local venues including St Georges College, and we are now extending access to our gym classes to more school kids throughout Surrey with special prizes. We believe that both physical and academic education are important, so we always look to support and get involved with local institutions for children's all-round learning.
Open Access for Everybody
We don't just offer services to our members. Our holiday courses are often open to non-members and our record-breaking invitational events welcome budding gymnasts from different clubs far and wide, up and down the country. We like to bring people together and challenge them to fulfill their potential, getting involved in new activities with a spirit of friendly competition. In this sense sport is a very powerful medium, and we are keen to further raise the profile of gymnastics after the sensational London 2012 Olympics.
